WordPress

ELIVTECH builds on WordPress 6.9 - powering 43% of the web - to deliver corporate sites, WooCommerce stores, and headless digital experiences.

WordPress is the world's leading open-source content management system, first released in May 2003 and now on version 6.9 “Gene” (December 2025). From blogs and brochure sites to headless architectures and enterprise portals, it powers more of the web than any other platform — and it is the CMS ELIVTECH builds on when clients want editorial freedom without giving up engineering rigour.

Why teams choose WordPress

Accessible for everyone

An intuitive block editor lets your team publish polished content without touching code, while developers keep full control over templates and data.

Vast plugin ecosystem

Over 61,000 free plugins cover SEO, e-commerce, caching, forms, analytics, and security — extending your site without custom code written from scratch.

Scales with your business

From a five-page brochure site to a high-traffic multisite network, WordPress scales via load balancing, object caching, and CDN integration.

SEO-ready by design

Clean semantic markup, schema support via Yoast or Rank Math, and fast Core Web Vitals give WordPress sites a strong organic-search foundation.

Active security community

A dedicated security team, an automated update pipeline, and role-based access keep the core hardened, with patches reaching millions of sites within hours.

Headless & REST-ready

The WP REST API and WPGraphQL let teams use WordPress purely as a content backend, delivering the front end with React, Next.js, or any modern framework.

Inside a WordPress site

Whether you serve a traditional theme or a decoupled front end, the same well-worn request path runs underneath — PHP and MySQL at the core, caching in front, and an API layer ready when you need it. Here is the architecture ELIVTECH deploys:

WordPress architecture — from visitor to content

Your visitors Web & mobile Themed frontend Gutenberg · FSE Headless frontend Next.js · Astro · REST WordPress core PHP 8.2+ · hooks REST API Cache Themes · plugins · WP-Cron MySQL Content & data Redis Object cache
01 — Core architecture

Proven PHP foundations, fast at scale

WordPress runs on PHP and MySQL. Each request boots the plugin and theme layer through an event-driven hook system (add_action / add_filter), then hands off to the template hierarchy to render the response. Caching layers — object cache via Redis or Memcached, page cache via a plugin — sit in front of database queries, keeping response times low even under heavy traffic.

02 — Block editor

Design whole layouts, visually

The Gutenberg block editor, now powering Full Site Editing, represents content as structured JSON blocks. Each block is a React component backed by server-rendered PHP. Theme blocks replace classic templates, so designers build entire layouts visually while developers expose block patterns and template parts through the theme.json specification.

03 — REST & headless

One backend, any front end

The WP REST API exposes all core content — posts, pages, users, media, taxonomies — as JSON at /wp-json/wp/v2/, with Application Passwords or OAuth for auth. For GraphQL needs, WPGraphQL adds a fully typed schema, enabling efficient single-request fetching for headless front ends built with Next.js, Gatsby, Nuxt, or Astro.

04 — Multisite

Many sites, one console

WordPress Multisite lets a single installation manage a network of sites sharing one codebase, plugin set, and server — each with its own domain, users, and content. Network admins govern theme and plugin availability while individual site admins run their own editorial workflow, ideal for media groups, universities, franchises, and white-label SaaS.

A platform that keeps its lead

WordPress has held roughly 43% of all websites for years — a level of adoption no other CMS approaches. Here is its share of the entire web over time (W3Techs):

Where WordPress is a great fit

  • Content editors who must publish without developer involvement
  • Projects where time-to-launch and cost are primary constraints
  • Sites that need a rich ecosystem of off-the-shelf integrations (SEO, CRM, payments)
  • Headless delivery paired with a familiar CMS admin for the editorial team
  • Multisite governance across many brands or regions
ELIVTECH approach: We treat WordPress as a full software-engineering project — version-controlled theme and plugin code, CI/CD deployments, staging environments, automated PHPUnit and Playwright tests, and structured code reviews — so your site is as robust as any other system in our stack.
